Senior Mobile Engineer - Platform
Voy is a fast growing Healthtech scale-up, aiming to be the healthcare provider that millions of people trust as their partner to a long and healthy life. Our platform allows users to quickly and safely diagnose possible conditions, get treatment and support them afterwards to live a higher quality life. To do this, we are building an all-in-one healthcare platform which brings together world-leading medical expertise and technical excellence.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer to help build and scale VOY's mobile experience — a core part of how users engage with their health, access care, and build long-term healthy habits.
This role goes beyond shipping screens. You'll take real ownership of mobile experiences used by thousands of patients, working end to end from understanding user problems through delivery, iteration, and measurement. You'll be joining a fast-growing product area with high visibility and a meaningful impact on our mission to become the healthcare partner people trust for life.
Our mobile stack is built on React Native.
About the Mobile Platform
This is a Mobile Platform role focused on the engineering foundations that enable high-quality mobile features at scale. You'll help build and maintain reusable components, architecture, and tooling that other engineers can rely on — so product teams can ship faster without sacrificing reliability, performance, or user experience.
Working closely with product, design, and data, you'll identify platform bottlenecks, contribute to pragmatic standards, and help create the guardrails and infrastructure that improve developer velocity and consistency across the mobile app.
Responsibilities
Identify engineering pain points across the mobile codebase and contribute well-scoped, high-impact solutions to the platform roadmap
Define and uphold React Native engineering standards covering code quality, TypeScript conventions, component architecture, and testing strategy
Build and maintain the shared primitives other mobile engineers depend on: navigation, state management, networking, UI foundations, and error handling patterns
Partner with product engineering squads to unblock delivery through reference implementations, shared modules, and clear migration paths
Contribute to and help improve the mobile CI/CD pipeline, release workflows, and build tooling to reduce friction and increase release confidence
Support the mobile observability strategy: event schemas, analytics instrumentation, crash alerting, and production dashboards that give teams actionable signal
Shape API contracts and backend integration patterns in partnership with platform and backend engineers
Contribute to technical planning for the mobile roadmap, providing input on sequencing, trade-offs, and long-term maintainability
What You'll Do
Identify and resolve platform bottlenecks that slow down feature teams, from slow builds and flaky tests to inconsistent patterns and missing abstractions
Build and document reusable React Native components and modules with clean APIs that other engineers can rely on without needing deep platform knowledge
Profile and optimise app performance: reduce unnecessary re-renders, cut bundle size, and improve startup and interaction latency
Implement and evolve the mobile testing strategy across unit, integration, and end-to-end layers
Use feature flags, analytics instrumentation, and dashboards to validate platform changes and support safe rollouts
Review code across the mobile codebase, providing feedback that raises the bar on quality and consistency over time
Keep the app secure through safe storage practices, secure data handling, and proactive thinking about attack surface
Who You Are
A senior engineer with a strong foundation in TypeScript and React, coming from either a React Native or frontend background. You don't need deep native mobile experience on day one, but you're excited to go deep on the mobile platform
Someone who thinks in systems: you see the patterns across a codebase and want to fix the root cause, not just the symptom
Comfortable writing documentation and building tools that help other engineers move faster without needing to ask you every time
Experienced working cross-functionally with product, design, and backend teams, able to align on technical direction without ego
Pragmatic about trade-offs: you know when to invest in a robust abstraction and when to ship something simple that solves the immediate problem
Data-informed: you use production metrics, crash rates, and analytics to prioritise platform work and demonstrate impact
A clear communicator who can translate platform complexity into plain language for engineers and non-engineers alike
Comfortable in a fast-moving scale-up environment where the roadmap shifts and the best engineers help shape it rather than just execute it
Please note this is a hybrid role with a requirement of 3 days per week in office.

About Voy
Healthcare is broken. We’re fixing it — and we need your help.
Back in 2019, we launched MANUAL to to tackle men's health (starting with hair loss and sexual health). A few years later, we launched Voy with a focus on weight loss. But our ambition has always been bigger. Healthcare too often treats conditions in isolation, not people as a whole, and we're on a mission to prove there's a better way.
In 2025, we evolved from MANUAL into Voy, a brand built for the long game: supporting people through every stage of life, not just a single diagnosis. Today, we support over 1 million members across the UK, Germany and Brazil, delivering personalised care across weight loss, menopause, hair loss and TRT (with more categories on the way).
Ready to join us and change how healthcare feels for millions of people?
